Beneficio Genesis

Finca Genesis is one of the most beautiful coffee farms we have had the privilege to visit. The farm is owned by Oscar and Olga Mendez and is located in Lourdes, Naranjo. Searching for a solution to better process their own coffee the Mendez' decided to build a mill, Beneficio Genesis, which soon also benefited their neighbors with small farms. The micro mill consists of a depulper and a patio area with a number of raised beds for drying. On Finca Genesis, which is nestled between two mountain ranges with a unique micro climate, the coffee grows among a variety of flora from hydrangeas and tomatoes to a diverse selection of indigenous trees -- each element playing a role and contributing to the terroir.
