Hermanos Corderos
Finca La Mina, the farm of Braulio and Christian Cordero — who are third generation coffee producers — is located in the Costa Rican, coffee-growing region of Brunca. When they were just kids, a bad hurricane devastated the original farm, which belonged to their grandparents. One of the varietals, Mundo Novo, grown by their grandfather, was almost wiped out except for a few trees. Braulio and Christian harvested the few cherries remaining and planted them; they grew. The young brothers repeated the cycle year after year. Now they are grown men with an entire mountainside of their ancestral coffee, the Mundo Novo their grandfather grew. Sometimes great coffee has a great story.
